2024 West Virginia HillFest Update!!!
I know it’s been a couple days since this event ended on Sunday but I can’t stop smiling when I think about just how awesome the venue and course was to run.
The lower half of the course was so freaking fast and there was soooo much more pavement than i’m used to in the other hillclimbs.
I keep finding more pics here and there and even drone footage today of my car so I hope to have that out soon. In-car could take a while but i’ll have it up as soon as I can.
Friday night at the BASH I was asked to have my car parked down in the village. What an awesome experience that was! I met so many people and once they realized it WAS my car and that I ACTUALLY compete in it the conversation usually went to the motor. Lots of compliments of how strong that motor sounded and all I could do was smile. That CORSA Performance Sport exhaust got lots of compliments too! This event just had a whole different vibe than any other hillclimb I’ve competed at to date. 🙌🏼
Saturday the fog cleared and runs were started.
Out of the box the car ran strong but I had an issue with the shifter in the first switchback not wanting to go from 4th to 2nd which is a shift I made easily in the other switchbacks. Weird I know - was the car flexing or was I so amped up I didn’t get it into its gate? Well this somehow worked itself out for the Sunday runs. I knew I was a couple secs slow due to the shifter but still managed to get 6th overall out of 96 drivers and podiumed 3rd in Racecar class with a time of 98.9 secs. 🏁
Sunday the runs were quicker as no real on track issues to slow the flow down. I was able to get the time down to 96.5 due to the car working perfectly! The Ignite Racing Fuel E85 gave me the performance I needed to climb that 1000 feet elevation quickly from start to finish. Ended up 3rd overall and 1st in Racecar class.
Very successful weekend for Team Tracy Motorsport but without my partners/sponsors I wouldn’t be having the ride of my life!!! Thank you for your support of Team Tracy Motorsport!!
