This past weekend at the SCCA Appalachian HillClimb Series Presented by Summit Racing’s Flagrock Hillclimb it was all about REDEMPTION for me. This event last year, on my last run, I had the scariest “off” of my entire time in racing. I’ve thought about that accident almost everyday since. This hill wasn’t getting the best of me this year and i’m proud to say it did not! It’s no longer living rent free in my head!!
Saturday the car ran well and we cut time each run.
Can’t ask for better than that!! I felt good going into Sunday and I felt I could catch that 3rd place spot on the OUTLAW class podium.
Unfortunately, right before my first run on Sunday, I received a call from my mother about an emergency situation going on at my home and I had to get home quickly. Luckily I don’t live far from Norton.
Despite my quick departure, I had a great time seeing everyone and the fan fest Friday night was awesome.
Norton and Flagrock are special and you can bet we will be back next year!!!
