Weekend Update from Pine Mountain Hillclimb!!!
Incredible weekend of fun and fast times with my hillclimb friends and family!!!
We had the biggest turnout of drivers at this event since the beginning of the SCCA Appalachian HillClimb Series Presented by Summit Racing which was 100 drivers!!! The last time an SCCA Hillclimb event with 100 drivers was in 1995. There were many issues literally thrown at the event staff this past weekend. Four significant crashes, a couple severed optic timing cables and a few power outages to the timing equipment. Despite this the workers got the 100 drivers up & down the mountain. I want to thank everyone who volunteered to work the event as well as the emergency crew and the towing folks who took care of the drivers/vehicles that needed them.
This past weekend I had two goals
- to beat my record there set back in ‘22 of 1:53.009
- and to get into the 1:49s.
I had to chose a new class this year as Modified Unlimited doesn’t exist any longer….so I competed in the OUTLAW class. This class is STOUT and has some of the top drivers in it so I wasn’t sure how i’d stack up.
My results!!
New record of 1:50.5 (2.5 secs faster!)
21st out of 100 drivers and 5th in class.
I’m not far off that podium and you can bet i’m going to be scrapping to get to that end result next hillclimb!
👑I won my 3rd Haltech Queen of the Hill Award 👑 here at Pine Mountain and that never gets old…..such a beautiful trophy AND it lights up!!
I want to seriously thank MTI Racing for all of their help getting my car set up to run at its full potential and cut through the electrical issues i’ve had the past year.
It had been beyond frustrating so THANK YOU!
My Lingenfelter Performance Engineering Eliminator Spec R 427 LS7 ran stronger than it ever has and I seriously have to learn how to handle the power that motor puts down! The Alcon Specialist Brakes & Clutches helped whoa me down perfectly and of course those Hoosier Racing Tire A7s were on rails and made the climb so much more fun!!!
