Semi-long post alert…..
What a truly eventful weekend for Team Tracy Motorsport! I had my highs and lows so let’s just start out with the highs shall we? 🫣
For the first time in a very long time I had no mechanical issues and the car was incredibly good! So good I needed time to figure out just how hard I could push it - find that limit. Thank you again Lingenfelter Performance Engineering for all the time and effort you put into my #eliminatorspecR LS7. It was evident in how strong she ran!!! The corn we use helped our cause and I am proud to run Ignite Racing Fuel E85 in my ZO6!!
We were able to get the podium in modified unlimited and 7th overall! We achieved the Queen of the Hill award once again making it 3 for 3 for the year!! 👑👑👑
We also tied with Seth Monteleone for the overall 2023 Modified Unlimited Championship and I am so proud of that!! With all of my car’s issues this year it’s crazy what i’ve had to do and spend to get back on the hill this year, to still podium at each event (minus the dragon in which I couldn’t compete as I didn’t have my car) and to still even be a contender for a championship. #YouCantCountMeOut
Now for the lows…. on the very last run on sunday I
had an off, I believe it was turn 7, and went down an embankment and into the trees…..🫣
This was in the corner before the carousel area where all the EMS/Fire/spectators were - I got a bit loose with my right tires catching the grass on right side of road as I was exiting the corner and it shot me across the road down into the trees - no possible way i could have saved it. I got extremely lucky here. Jesus had his hands on that wheel with me or maybe it was my dad who passed away in Dec 2020 and who I feel in the car with me at all times? No hard impact to stop like you would expect. It felt like forever but the car finally slowed down and just came to a stop with the motor still running…. God i prayed that the motor would be ok and it is luckily. 🙏🏻 Unbelievable that I only have a very minimal splitter issue, the exhaust is a little wonky and i’m betting my alignment is off. I was not hurt due to all my safety equipment. I have thought about that moment a million times since yesterday and I am certain I had a guardian angel in the car with me on this one.
I want to thank so many people - the Safety/Fire/Rescue folks and the guys running the rollback - you all were so kind to me and treated my car like it was your own cutting her out of the trees. Thank you to Heyward Wagner and Rob Leslie at the scene for your kindness and understanding when I was in a bit of shock. You helped me more than you know. Brad Gates at the start line and giving me that smile that it’s going to be ok. All of you in the paddock when I got back with the car and your concern shown for me. Meant a ton. Erik Hubbard thank you for offering to help me load up - when i’d let you help…thanks for being there to talk with and keep my mind on other things.
I got vital seat time this weekend and lessons were learned but they say the best way to get over an incident like this is to get back in the saddle, right?
The plan is to get the car back down to Georgia at Roswell Outback Automotive Racing to get the car fixed up and truly inspected so I can race this weekend at Roebling Road with NASA Southeast.
