#hyperfest Sunday Update! Sorry for delay in getting this post out - got home late last night and race weekend hangover/return to work and reality today happened….. 😵💫
Tough second half of Hyperfest honestly….started with a flat tire caused by a nail in my new hoosier A7 found Saturday night. Not a deal breaker as I’m prepared and bring extra “decent” used tires just in this situation.
The deal breaker happened though when I started the car to qualify for Thunder Race on Sunday morning. I heard a very concerning sound coming from the engine compartment. Bob Lewis was there and confirmed what I heard. Found it was best to load her up and not restart the car. 😭😢🥺
This truly has not been my year (yet! I still have hope) for mechanical issues at NASA events - but at least I did get to compete in TIRE RACK ULTIMATE TRACK CAR CHALLENGE and got a Thunder Race in this year at VIRginia International Raceway. Proud of my results and going to get her ready for my next NASA Southeast event at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta June 11/12. Really am looking forward to Road Atlanta - love that track!
