When I planned on going back to the Pine Mountain Hillclimb this year, I had only 3 goals in mind….
- get a solid < 2 minute run
- get into the top 10 of my class, Street Unlimited
- bring the car home intact….
Seriously this mountain is not for the faint of heart!!
Lofty goals as SU was the largest class (22drivers) with many a hot shoe-experienced hillclimber in it. These guys were great and I enjoyed trying to best as many of them as possible! I ended up seventh! My best “official time” from last year was a 2:02.5 and this weekend I was able drop it to 1:53.006!
The best surprise was the QUEEN OF THE HILL award and that trophy is truly awesome! It’s the largest and heaviest racing trophy I’ve ever received and it meant so much to win it!! 🏆🥇
Huge thanks to Nick Wehe at Proauto for getting my torque tube couplers replaced and in time to make this event!! The car ran so well….she makes me look good no doubt!! 🧡🏁
The new Alcon Specialist Brakes & Clutches made a huge difference as I could wait very late to brake (somewhat scary at times 😳) with not much brake pedal actually needed. They worked THAT WELL!!!
